ORIGIN Red Wine Bordeaux Château Grandefont, with a vineyard extending over 45 hectares, is located on the left bank of the Dordogne River in Saint-Avit-Saint-Nazaire. Originally planted with fruit trees, the estate was gradually transformed into a vineyard in the 1960s. The vineyard, situated on the former riverbed, features a particularly gravelly soil and benefits from a microclimate due to its proximity to the river. The property, whose name means "Great Fountain," once served as a stopping point for flatboats transporting wine from Sainte-Foy-la-Grande to Bordeaux. This single-varietal range aims to modernize the image of Bordeaux by offering accessible, easy-to-drink wines, presented in attractive and modern packaging, symbolizing the renewal of our region. This family estate belongs to the Souille de Pedro family since 1852 and is located in the upper part of the field of Mazeyres (West of Chateau Le Pin). Hermitages de Mazeyres was the first wine served during the first transatlantic crossing on the ship “FRANCE” to New York in 1962.
